RedDot NDT is a Visual (VT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT) testing company specializing in Naval shipbuilding and repair, bringing over 14 years of hands-on experience in demanding maritime and defense environments. Led by an ASNT Level III–certified professional, RedDot NDT delivers code-compliant inspections, procedure development, and technical support aligned with Navy specifications and industry standards. Our focus on precision, documentation, and accountability helps shipyards and contractors meet quality requirements with confidence.
How it started
RedDot NDT started with me working in Quality Control, inspecting components for submarines and aircraft carriers—where there is zero room for interpretation or error.
My early days were spent deep in blueprints, drawing notes, and specifications, learning quickly that a successful inspection isn’t just about looking at a weld or a surface. It’s about understanding what the drawing actually requires, how notes override views, how standards are invoked, and how acceptance criteria are applied in the real world—not just on paper.
As I gained experience, I moved into Visual and Liquid Penetrant Testing, spending over 14 years in Naval shipbuilding performing inspections on critical components where safety, traceability, and compliance mattered every single day.
Along the way, I saw the same issues come up again and again:
unclear procedures, copy-and-paste written practices, and inspectors expected to “figure it out” without proper guidance.
RedDot NDT was created to change that.
What started as helping coworkers interpret drawings, tighten up procedures, and align inspections with actual requirements turned into a business focused on doing NDT the right way—through clear VT and PT procedures, technically sound written practices, accurate inspections, and practical consultation, all backed by ASNT Level III certificates and real shipyard knowledge.
